NEW SONG: “‘Til The Day Time Ends” | Original by Kate Stedelbauer

Hi y’all! My new YouTube video is live!

I’m sorry I haven’t been as active on AbundantlyKate recently. My music is my top priority, and I’ve been quite busy lately, which is a good thing!

Anyway, I hope y’all enjoy this new song. I wrote “‘Til The Day Time Ends” as a fun, goofy reflection on a very real anxiety of mine: the passing of time. Since graduating high school in 2016, I’m now very aware of my days passing by, and consequently getting anxious about whether or not I’m using the time I have to its fullest potential. I have so much I’d like to accomplish, so many dreams to fulfill, and I constantly feel self-inflicted pressure to do more, be better, and go farther. On some level, this has really helped my work ethic and goal-setting, but it’s still become an unhealthy anxiety that I have been working to get over. If you know what any of that feels like, I hope you will find this song relatable and appreciate my attempt to lighten the burden with sarcasm and comedic relief. If you enjoy, do me a favor and please thumbs-up the video on YouTube and subscribe 🙂 Thanks!

LYRICS:

well I ain’t never smoked a cigarette but my lungs still fill up with regret

coughing up the words I should have said back then

and I’ve always tried to work real hard and be real good and go real far

but I’ve ended up right back here again

So I smashed the clock on the wall cause its ticking’s driving me mental

and I spent all night tryna catch the sun

cause I just can’t stand a wasted day, so I get down on my knees and pray

that the Lord would take this fear away

but until then I’m running ’til the day time ends

and I’ve thought about my wedding dress, my future kids, you know the rest,

and the day I find my first gray hair

well I’ve always liked to go real fast but now I’d like to take that back,

the spinning of this earth has got me scared

So I smashed the clock on the wall cause its ticking’s driving me mental

and I spent all night tryna catch the sun

cause I just can’t stand a wasted day, so I get down on my knees and pray

that the Lord would take this fear away

but until then I’m running ’til the day time ends

and I know my life ain’t defined by my wrinkle cream or wallet size

or what I look like when I’m 89

and if numbers don’t mean anything and we’re all meant to spread our wings

I’ve had the right idea all this time

So I smashed the clock on the wall cause its ticking’s driving me mental

and I spent all night tryna catch the sun

cause I just can’t stand a wasted day, so I get down on my knees and pray

that the Lord would take this fear away

but until then I’m running ’til the day time ends
