As I sit here cozy in my bed, I just felt like talking to you guys, so I thought I’d share a little update on my life. The summer is melting away faster than the lip balm I left in my car last week (do NOT leave lip balm in your car kids), and it’s becoming very hard to keep up. There is still so much sunshine I have yet to soak up, and so many things I would still love to do before the season ends! I’ve been so busy that the days just keep flying by. I went on a trip to visit family a few weeks ago, and very consequently, the second season of Jane the Virgin came out on Netflix around the same time. Needless to say, vacation is the perfect time to blow through your favorite show, and I am not ashamed to say the I binged watched JTV season two pretty religiously while I was away. I won’t give out any spoilers, but that finale? Are you kidding!? If you’re a fan of the show as well, let me know and we can obsess together! I cannot wait for season three – so much drama.
In other news, as the summer drags on into August, I’ve started to think about my fall wardrobe! I have recently become quite obsessed with shoes, and let me tell you, Jeffrey Campbell is killing the game. I have been eyeing these rodillo wedges (right) since last summer, and though we are heading out of wedge season, I still might try and hunt these down. I also spotted the cromwell bootie (left) on Sarah Belle’s Instagram (love her, btw), and fell in love. The silver metallic detailing adds such an edge, and the heel height in perfect for all-day wear. I am seriously considering splurging on these babies for fall!
As I anticipate the autumn season coming, I have really been rethinking my closet. In the last month, I have gotten rid of SO MUCH clothing. I dropped off two bags full of stuff to Goodwill earlier this month, and I am in the process of selling some of my newer pieces to the online thrift store threadUP! I saw an add for the site and I thought I would give it a go, so I will let y’all know how my experience is. It feels so good to get rid of stuff I don’t wear anymore – not only do I get a much clearer picture of what I have, but my closet is also so much more organized! I honestly can’t stand owning clothing that I do not wear regularly, and I think that is what inspired this little purge. I recently bought a shoe rack from BB&B, and if you don’t have one, I HIGHLY recommend getting one. My closet already looks so much prettier without my footwear all over the floor! Clear closet, clear mind, am I right?
Anyways, that was my little rant on my life. I hope all of you are doing well! August is upon us, and I wish all of y’all the best in your last month of the summer season. Drink lots of sweet tea and don’t forget to dance a little!
