First of all, I want to apologize for my lack of posts this week. Time seems to be slipping through my fingertips, and when I do manage to catch a few extra moments to myself, it seems that I only have enough energy to mindlessly watch Netflix or Youtube – this habit is definitely setting me back on my blogging priorities. Anyways, today I have a quick little Ulta haul for y’all! I went the other day to pick up a few items, some of which are on my list of tried and true, and others that are new to me. I’m going to do a quick run-through of everything I picked up, and offer my first impressions on the new products. Keep reading if you’d like to see what I got!
First Impression: I’ve been wanting to start using a toner on my skin again, and when I came across this one while browsing the never-ending skincare shelves at Ulta, I decided to give it a try! If I’m being totally honest (which I always am), the cute packaging was the first thing to catch my eye, and with the affordable price, I thought “why not?”. The bottle reads that this product can be used as a cleanser and a toner, infused with cucumber and sea kelp into a sensitive formula. Since purchasing it and using it a few times now, I’d say that it’s a pretty solid buy! It makes my skin feel very nice and refreshed after I cleanse it, and it has a great scent too. I am going to continue to use this product and see how my skin improves over time, so I will let y’all know how I like it – fingers crossed!
Tried and True: Right now, this powder is my go-to face makeup finisher, and so I had to pick up some more! I am such a fan of translucent finishers over regular powders because I feel like they look so much lighter and more natural when set over makeup. I’ve definitely had my share of not-so-great finishers, but I find that this one has been the product that I’ve consistently gone back to in the last few months. Its formula allows for buildable coverage without looking overly heavy or chalky, which is definitely a primary factor that I look for in a setting powder. If you’re hunting for a new finisher to try, I would highly recommend this one!
Tried and True: Guys, this stuff is seriously amazing. I discovered this product a few years ago and I have repurchased it so many times. It’s A 10 is an awesome brand and I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed with anything I have tried from them! This leave-in spray is a particular favorite of mine because it acts as a conditioner, a heat-protectant, and so much more. My hair always look and feels so much healthier when I use this stuff, and it smells absolutely amazing! It’s A 10 lists everything their products can do on the back of the packaging, so you know exactly what you are buying and what you should expect. I can promise y’all that the great results you’ll get are worth every penny!
First Impression: The only highlighters I’ve ever used have been cream or liquid, but lately I’ve been thinking that I should try a powder formula and see how I like it! Physicians Formula always has such beautiful products, and so when I saw their highlighter, I decided it would be the one to try. I got it in the shade Light Bronze Pearl, with the intention of using it to highlight my cheek bones, brow bone, inner corners, etc. – the basic highlighting points of my face. I wanted to make sure I didn’t get one with too much bronze or peach in it, so this one’s nice because it has a combination of all three which gives a nice balance. Upon using it for the first time, I noticed that it’s a little more glittery than I am used to, but still very pretty on the skin. I think it will be beautiful to use as the warm weather approaches to get a summery glow, and maybe even a peachy/champagne eyeshadow look? Who knows!
Tried and True: With warm weather comes open-shouldered, bare-backed summer fashion. Because of this, it is important to me to keep my skin healthy! I’ve used this scrub in summers past to keep my skin clear and so I decided to pick some more up on my Ulta trip. Neutrogena’s pink grapefruit products are great because they’re effective and they smell so wonderful! This scrub is definitely a summer essential.
First Impression: If y’all read my Lowdown on Lashes post from early February, then you know how much I raved about Benefit’s They’re Real! Mascara. Because I loved that one so much, I thought I’d give Roller Lash a shot! Normally, I use a base mascara of a lighter formula first, and then follow with a mascara of a thicker formula, and I think that this mascara is just perfect for that! After using it for the first time, I noticed that it made my lashes very long and delicate. The brush is curved and the bristles are very fine, which is perfect for separating lashes. I would say it is just as good as They’re Real, and definitely a great option if you want a product with lots of lengthening and curling power. Overall, I am pretty happy with this purchase!
I hope y’all enjoyed my little haul, and I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Look out for my March Favorites coming up pretty soon – maybe one of these new products will make the cut!
